Point of information: Obama did not “edge out Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries” — he edged her out at the convention, where it became clear that he was the Anointed One in DNC circles. Hillary led in the actual voting, but she didn’t squawk much about losing (imagine that!) because there was very probably a quid pro quo, and Hillary would receive her own anointment in 2016.
